[PHOTOS] American Airlines New Boeing 777-300 Cabin Mockups

Editor’s note: Some of the comments in this post are purely speculative. American Airlines has only released very limited information about their cabin configuration. That information is denoted in italics below.

American Airlines today released photos of their new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft’s cabin configurations, as well as information about the deployment on a new route. American announced their intent to revitalize all three of their cabins when the 777-300 was delivered, and now they’ve released mockups of the planned designs.

First Class

In American’s First Class, passengers will enjoy lie-flat seats with a 17-inch touchscreen monitor. The new seat looks plenty roomy, with tons of storage space for personal effects. Studying the mockup, it also looks like there’s a touchscreen seat controller, like that found on Emirates and other airlines.

Business Class

Business features lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with aisle access. There is a 15.9 inch touchscreen for each seat. While these features are clearly an improvement over the existing business class, this cabin looks a little industrial for my taste. It’ll be interesting to see the final product.

Economy Class

Economy is perhaps the biggest improvement of all. Each seat features AVOD and a large touchscreen PTV (by my guess 10″ or more). This is huge, because AA’s 777s don’t feature AVOD or touchscreen PTVs in Economy. Each seat also has in-seat AC power as well as Wi-Fi access.
