[UPDATED] Which Markets Will American Airlines Deploy Its New Boeing 777-300ERs To?

UPDATE: We have reached out to American and asked for clarification. While they have not communicated back directly, they did post this tweet to us:

There has been some confusion over which markets will see American’s 777-3ooER first. Originally, London was slated to be the first market to see the new aircraft, but a press release issued today led some to believe that Sao Paulo was replacing London as the inaugural market.

Beginning in December, American’s route between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Sao Paulo (GRU) will operate with the new state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER, making Brazil the first market for the new aircraft.

However, another page on the American Airlines website, dedicated to the 777-300ER, lists both London and Sao Paulo as initial markets.

London and Sao Paulo are dedicated as the first two markets for this aircraft with more markets to be announced.

Obviously, there is some confusion regarding the market choices. We’ve reached out to American Airlines for clarification, and will update the post as necessary. If you missed it earlier, American also announced their interior choices for the new plane.
