  1. For some reason, the comments we had this morning are gone! I’ve emailed the posters to please repost their comments, so you should see them soon. We’ve also had some email replies! Great!

  2. My fav place I went with my 2 kids, my aunt and uncle was to gran canaria. Fantasy island that place is,Water so clean, Sand so soft, Weather so wonderfully, We all loved the time we had there

  3. Home is best………..
You really can’t go wrong with a UK east coast sail, Southend to Southwold, stopping off at the gorgeous Pin Mill in the middle, ending at Southwold for a period of time so you can safely sample the lovely locally brewed Adnams beer:-)

  4. Being from a sailing background we did a lot of sailing in Britain. Two of my fondest memories are sailing to Illfracombe and Padstow. Lovely places with contrasting atmospheres and not overtly touristy! I used to love spotting the dolphins in the channels as we sailed and thinking that it may not be exotic or glamorous but UK waters can house one of the most beautiful nimble creatures around.

  5. My dream destination is to sail around the world. I have signed up for Clipper 11-12 and busy with training.

My favourite sailing destination is the Ionian. My wife and I just love sailing around the many islands, discovering sandy bays and trying out the local food.

We’ve been sailing in the Ionian for 6 years and still get that tingle when the sails are powered, the yacht is heeled over and the sheets are creaking as we sail silently along at around 7-8 knots.

This idyllic area of the Ionian is so different to what I anticipate when I embark on my world sail with the Clipper fleet next year, 40,000 miles in 12 months …… So excited !

  6. We’ve done a lot of cold water sailing around the UK so my dream sail would be in the blue crystal waters down the Amalfi Coast to Naples. Stopping off for pasta and vino on the way!
