This past weekend, the MASSA Central League District TEam Racing Championships were sailed in Annapolis, Maryland.
Over the course of the two-day event, 100 races were sailed on two different courses, utilizing two 420 fleets, one belonging to Annapolis Yacht Club and the other belonging to Severn Sailing Association.
After a preliminary round-robin was completed, the teams were separated into Gold and Silver fleets based on performance in the preliminaries. After a four-way tie in the Gold fleet went to a sail-off, it was Mamaroneck High School (Mamaroneck, NY; 3-0 in sail-off) who emerged victorious. Archbishop Spalding High School (Severn, MD; 2-1 in sail-off) emerged second, with the Severn School (Severna Park, MD; 1-2 in sail-off) rounding out the top three.
