[VIDEO] Rough Seas Ahead for Volvo Ocean Race Sailors, Gamers

After having to delay the race for gale-like conditions in the South China Sea, the winds have dropped respectably, forcing teams to make strong tactical decisions. Though there are miles to go to Auckland, a wrong move now could spell disaster. However, there’s a lot of sailing left to be done and it’s still anyone’s race at this point.

The sailors aren’t the only ones facing a tough, technical challenge. Many Volvo Ocean Race gamers got an unwelcome surprise Tuesday when a technical glitch compromised gameplay for nearly 80 percent of users. With regards to the glitch, the Volvo Ocean Race had this to say:

Following the problem, which occurred around 1030 UTC on Tuesday, a protest committee made up of representatives from United Games and current players met to discuss the best course of action – and decided only a restart of the leg would be fair to all players.

The game is slated to be restarted at 12:00 GMT (7:00 am EST) on Wednesday, February 22. More information can be found here.
