[VIDEO] PUMA Lives to Fight Another Day

After a not-so-strong sprint leg, the boys of Mar Mostro are having their spirits renewed by taking the path less traveled. They’ve taken a much more northern route than the fleet, and  are hoping it’ll pay off.

Instead of forging the eastward path like their rivals, PUMA have chosen to make a beeline for Japan, a move which they hope will allow them to catch the trade winds and allow for upwind sailing down to Kiwiland.

It’s still anyone’s race, and with more than a week left until the projected finish into Auckland and nearly 4400 nm of ocean to transverse, there’s much sailing left to be done.
