[VIDEO] Telefonica Fall to Southern Ocean Brutality

The Southern Ocean continues to wreak havoc on the fleet, and this time it’s overall race leader Telefonica who have suffered. The team confirmed today that they will be making a maintenance pit stop in Ushuaia, Argentina, in order to repair a delaminated bow. Telefonica’s troubles follow Team Sanya’s decision to turn back to New Zealand, and CAMPER’s decision to make a pit stop in Uruguay.

Groupama and PUMA are powered up and moving quickly in the top two positions, but Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing is lagging behind the slowed Telefonica by a distance of nearly 1,000 nm.
