The first Boeing 787 for Santiago-based LAN Airlines exited the paint shop today, completing the final component of the assembly process. The aircraft, one of 32 ordered, is scheduled for delivery later in the year.
LAN’s first 787, registered CC-BBA, is configured with 30 business class seats and 217 economy class seats. In its first year of service, it will operate routes to Buenos Aires, Lima, Madrid, Los Angeles, and Frankfurt, all from the airline’s hub in Santiago, Chile.
We’ve already reviewed some central design aspects of the 787. You can find that post here.
