Under normal circumstances, seeing a battleship-grey KC-10 Extender taxiing around the American Airlines terminal at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport could be a bit disconcerting. However, the circumstances were certainly not normal.
In celebration of New York’s annual Air Force Week, American Airlines maintenance engineer Wayne Hanna (who moonlights as a U.S. Air Force Reservist) brought his plane and his crew to JFK, and took our friends at Jaunted up in the air for a little demonstration.
As Jaunted’s Cynthia Drescher reports, the KC-10 flew north, somewhere off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, and refueled four F-15C Eagle fighter jets. You can check out the full (awesome) write up, photo gallery, and incredible video over at Jaunted.
