The 34th America’s Cup has introduced a mobile app (iPhone only, Android forthcoming), as well as a new website.
According to the ACEA press release, “The new AC mobile application America’s Cup, which is free … features content such as latest news, results, videos and event schedules, but it’s the delivery of the real-time live action that promises to take the mobile race viewing experience to new levels.”
“Spectators can now access live data on their mobile devices coming directly from the boats they are watching racing in front of them,” says Stephen Barclay, CEO of the America’s Cup. “We will continue to develop technologies like this to bring this sport to life in an informative and entertaining way.”
Later this week, we’ll have further analysis of the website and, early next week, a full app review. At first glance, the new website, designed by Sparkart, appears much improved, and the team websites display much more customized content, and each have a unique look, a far cry from the previous interface.
The San Francisco edition of the America’s Cup World Series starts tomorrow on the San Francisco Bay. Follow Racing Winds Media for live coverage and post-racing analysis.
