Awhile back, we fundraised for Manhattan-based charity: water, an organization that helps bring clean water to impoverished nations around the world. This year, charity: water’s September Campaign is aiming to fundraise $1.7 million for clean water access in Rwanda.
You might ask yourself why you would donate, and what sets charity: water apart from other charities. The charity: water organization is unique, in that 100% of donations go directly to the campaign (overhead costs are funded by generous private companies), as well as a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator, scoring a perfect 70/70 in the Accountability & Transparency category. Further, charity: water addresses a basic human dignity, a necessity, that many are lacking. The fact that one-seventh of the world’s population doesn’t have access to clean water is simply mind boggling. It shouldn’t be tolerated.
We could explain it away, but it’d be more effective if you watched the trailer, then explored the September Campaign website yourself. The people of Rwanda need our help. This campaign is the answer to that call.
Disclaimer: We promote charity: water campaigns because we feel passionate about the work they do. Racing Winds Media and/or the Racing Winds Blog is not compensated in any way for promotion of charity: water materials. While we feel especially strong about this organization, there are many worthy charities that need your support. We encourage you to donate to worthy charities whenever possible.
