LAN Airlines of Chile will receive their first 787 tomorrow, at Boeing’s factory in Everett, Washington. LAN is only the fourth airline to take delivery of Boeing’s latest invention, following Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines (JAL), as well as Addis Ababa-based Ethiopian Airlines.
Unfortunately, members of Racing Winds Media will be stuck in school tomorrow, watching the planes on final approach for BWI Airport and dreaming of being at 39,000 feet. Not to fear, though, because our favorite friends at Jaunted will have plenty of coverage from the tarmac.
Another one of our cool aviation journo friends, David Parker Brown of AirlineReporter.com, will be making his way to Chile onboard the new aircraft after the delivery tomorrow. You can follow his travels over at AirlineReporter.com.
Be sure to check out the Racing Winds Blog tomorrow night for a follow up post with a summary of the day’s events.
