When the Racing Winds Blog first went live in 2009, we’re unafraid to admit that we had no idea what we were doing. Since then, however, we’ve gained a vast knowledge of the sailing, travel, and aviation industries, and have had the good fortune of covering many fantastic events.
However, our current presence, with visitors from 140 countries coming to the blog on a daily basis, has outgrown our current interface. We’ll be the first to admit, this blog looks somewhat tired, and is not aesthetically pleasing anymore. It’s cluttered, and lacks certain features that would make the reader experience much more enjoyable.
Thankfully, it’ll all be changing soon.
For the past several months, we’ve been working on a new strategy for this blog. It will be renamed, and will feature a brand new look, which we are very excited about. Key features of the new interface include:
- An integrated rating system We will now be able to rate flights, hotel stays, and other travel experiences with an integrated star rating system that will add klout to our reviews.
- More media The new design will integrate more multimedia into our posts and reviews, allowing for beautiful photo and video gallery posts.
- Clean layout A totally new, clean layout with one sidebar, easy readability, and even easier navigation.
This new site will roll out by the end of May. We are currently finalizing details, and have been testing the new layout for several weeks. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available, but we’re so excited to debut our new look to the blogging community!
